Our first release. A fragrance for new beginnings.

Deffro — Welsh for "to awaken" — captures the energy of early spring in North Wales. The moment when light returns to the valleys, when cold mornings give way to warm afternoons, when everything feels possible again.

It opens bright and alive: citrus and herbs caught in morning sun. As it settles, it reveals something deeper — resinous woods and earth that anchor the brightness without weighing it down. What remains is optimism made tangible. A scent that carries you forward.

This is joy without innocence. Hope without naivety. The feeling of stepping outside at dawn and knowing the season has turned.

The Scent Journey

First Impression

Fresh citrus — lime, lemon, grapefruit — cut with black pepper and rosemary. Immediate brightness. The shock of cold water. Energy.

The Heart

Lavender and clary sage soften the edges. Juniper and neroli add complexity. The scent becomes rounder, warmer, more generous. This is where it finds its character — not simply fresh, but alive.

The Foundation

Cedarwood and frankincense. Vetiver and sandalwood. The brightness doesn't disappear, but it's now held by something substantial. Earthy. Grounding. The scent that lingers is clean, resinous, and confident.

Why These Ingredients

We built Deffro around contrast: brightness and depth, energy and calm, immediate impact and lasting presence.

The citrus top notes — lime, lemon, tangerine, grapefruit — create that first burst of light. The moment you step outside and feel the sun. But citrus alone fades too quickly, so we layered in aromatics: rosemary, clary sage, lavender. These herbs add texture and longevity, while black pepper and juniper keep the composition from becoming too soft or familiar.

Neroli bridges the gap between fresh and floral without tipping into sweetness.

The base is where Deffro finds its permanence. Cedarwood and frankincense provide structure — clean, resinous, almost meditative. Vetiver and sandalwood add earthiness. Patchouli and labdanum give weight and warmth without ever feeling heavy.

The result is a fragrance that feels optimistic but never frivolous. Joyful but grounded. Ready for whatever comes next.
